Dreaming is always about the end-point while Seeing(i.e. a goal) is mostly about the process.
Dreaming is like going on a tour while Seeing is like going on a journey.
You get little during a tour if all you do is just appreciate scenes- nothing of what you behold becomes yours if you only appreciate them. More so, they could be end products of nature. At the end all you get is a memory of all you came across during the tour and probably pictures... and you pay cash just for viewing and feeling(synonymous to mind and time wasted on dreaming without goals for achievement)- there's no virtual reality!
But for a journey, you do less of beholding and more of processing- like making sure the car's working fine, eating well(not too much) before going... and on the way you are moving most of the time not just staring at(beholding) a nice "stuff" on the road. There are mostly only questions about which road to pass and usually no questions about where you're going.... sure you know your destination.
During a tour, you may laze about the tourist centres and can stay a whole day just looking and catching glimpses.
While you are less troubled about the destination(cos it's so sure) during a journey, there isn't a destination during a tour apart from your house from which you came to which you will return.
So we can say:
Tour(likened to dreaming):- From your house you came, to your house will you return.
Journey(likened to Seeing):- From your house you came, to your destination will you go.
A tour could be less fruitful than a journey(and it usually is with most people).
Why?? Read over and think!
But you know what? A tour could be fruitful if there was a real purpose behind it- not just pleasure.
Pleasure is good stuff and is good to ease off stress but there's more to just that...
Therefore dreaming could be fruitful if there was more to it than pleasure.... but many people get lost in it's pleasure.
If you could turn your dreaming into "redefined seeing"- like absorbing the magnificence of a wonderfully awesome and clear waterfall and imagining how it can be dammed and channeled for use to ameliorate diseases related to dirty water usage in regions not so far from there....
So while absorbing the pleasing sight, ideas pop into your head.
That imagination at that point could be the beginning of a journey for you... Let the beautiful sights of life speak to your inner mind.
Let your dreams spur you to see. Don't just stay on the images of the end-point of your desires. Let the sights and images be a drive to achieve what you see(i.e. your goal) Focus on the processes and you'll see how much you are extracting out of life.
Did you get that??....
